HIDA Leather® とは
なぜトレーサビリティにこだわるのか
多くの家具は輸入材で作られています。過去に違法伐採された木材を使ってしまった苦い経験から、トレーサビリティ（追跡可能）のある木材だけで家具を作ろうと飛騨高山の木材を自ら市場で原木購入し始めました（2012年）。次に気になったのは、革でした。何度も交渉し、2017年ついに動きます。
HIDA Leather®誕生
飛騨での使用が革小物に限られていた飛騨牛の皮。多くはどこでどのように消費されているのかわからない状態でした。岐阜が誇る飛騨牛の皮としての活用をもっと増やしたいと考え、2017年、初めて家具用革として開発・使用致しました（HIDA Leather 商標登録 6001390）。流通の関係で、特定のブランド和牛のみを使用した家具用革は他には存在しません（2017年当時）。高級食肉用家畜として大切に育てられた飛騨牛の原皮は、解体後１時間以内に冷蔵されるシステム下にあります。そのため原皮の品質は他に類がなく、それを世界品質のタンナーにより製革していただいています。使い込むほどに味わい深くなるベジタブルタンニン鞣しを施し、生きていた証としての自然なシボなどのナチュラルマークをそのまま感じられる染色のみを施した高級家具用革です。品質の違いは時間とともに現れます。
Historically, use of Hida beef hide was limited to small leather products and there were no known facts on other uses. In 2017, in hopes to boost the use of Hida beef hide in furniture products, we developed HIDA Leather, product registration number 6001390. This is the first and only known attempt to use specific brand-name cow hide in furniture. Under the rigorous Hida beef processing structure, the hide is refrigerated within one hour of slaughtering, which contributes to superior quality leather. The hide is handled by world-class craftsman with vegetable-based tannin. The leather with such tannin shows original marks and spots from the animal and ages nicely over time.

家具づくりをして20年になります。違法伐採リスクが一割もある輸入材を避け、長年、飛騨高山の原木を扱う家具づくりをしてきました。小物にしか使われていなかった飛騨牛皮革を家具用革として開発したり、トレーサビリティを大切にしたものづくりをしています。現在は、木材が自然に放つ微細な成分を活用する新しい木材活用に取り組んでおり、木で人の自然の力を回復させるような住まいの家具を作るため研究・分析・実践をしています。
It has been 20 years since I had been furniture maker. For many years, I have been manufacturing furniture that deals with logs from Hida Takayama, while avoiding imported lumber, which has a risk of illegal logging. I developed Hida beef’s hides, which was used only for small items, as HIDA Leather®, and we are making products that value traceability. Currently, I am working on new utilization of wood that utilizes the fine extractives naturally released by wood, and we are conducting research, analysis and practice to make furniture that improve the natural power of human beings with wood.

1969年 愛知県豊橋市生まれ 1990年 名古屋大学工学部を卒業（株）INAXに入社。SEとして6年勤め、岐阜高山の木工訓練校に入学。川上博一氏に師事し、その後独立。2001年 マキノ ウッド ワークス（MWW）を設立。2006年 デザイナー カルバン・クライン氏自邸（NY）の家具を製作 納品のため二度渡米（建築家具設計：ジョン・ポーソン）2011年 飛騨高山の原木購入を始める 2013年 地元の飛騨ナラ材を使った家具づくりを開始 2017年 飛騨牛の皮を使用した高級家具用革HIDA Leatherを開発（商標登録 第6001390）家具づくりに使用 2018年 駆除され廃棄されるジビエ皮を家具用革として開発 HIDA Leatherブランドを立ち上げる 2019年 阿部藏之氏に師事し、木の内科的アプローチに触れる。人が感知できない活きた木材から出る微細放散成分を分析・研究（岐阜県生活技術研究所に分析依頼）家具への応用 北欧家具の本場デンマークよりインターン希望者1名を受け入れその後も交流 2020年 人の身体に良い木材の微細放散物質を活用したCure Furnishing™を始める 木材の微細放散成分を研究する「牧野木の総合学研究所 キュアウッドラボ CURE WOOD LAB.」設立 高山環境アレルギー対策センター設立 2021年 ランドスケープデザイナー スガヒロフミと株式会社M1を設立
Wood fine extractives researcher | Furniture craftsman | Interior Coordinator
Born in 1969 Toyohashi Aichi pref.Japan. I established Makino wood works in 2001. In 2006 I made furniture of the designer Calvin Klein’s own residence. I went to the NYC twice to deliver. (Architectural Furniture Design: John Pawson) In 2011 I have started to buy region’s logs. In 2013 I started to make furniture with HIDA oak. In 2017 I developed HIDA Leather for high-grade furniture leather with Hida beef’s skin. HIDA Leather is registered trademarks (6001390). I made furniture with HIDA Leather® and HIDA oak. In 2018 I developed HIDA Gibier Leather with wild deer and boar hides that have thrown away. I launched a new brand ‘ HIDA Leather® ‘. In 2019 I have studied under Mr. Kurayuki Abe about the medical approach to wood. I asked Gifu Prefecture Institute of Human Life Technology for analysis about fine extractives that wood release, human can not perceive. We accepted an intern from Denmark, the home of Scandinavian furniture, and have been in contact with him ever since.IN 2020 I’ve started “Cure Furnishing™” that something changes human life by using fine extractives that wood release. Established CURE WOOD LAB.™ for studying CURE WOOD™. Established Takayama Environment Allergy Countermeasure Center. 2021 Established M1 Inc. with landscape designer Hirofumi Suga.
